Sweet Velvet

It's all about mixing different textures this season. So what better way to accomplish this than by wearing a great pair of velvet trousers? These are super fab. A trouser with draped pockets and tapered ankles is so hot right now. A velvet pant is so unexpected and cool. You can wear this like the model is - a simple black tank and strappy heels. But I personally think these pants are begging for a lace cami and blazer OR a.....denim shirt. I know, I know...I can't believe I wrote that either. But it would look awesome. You can buy these GREAT pants here.

Polka Dots and Cocktails

I'm back! I'm so sorry I've been on hiatus...I've been busy with sinus infections which are so not chic! So I'm back with a great everyday cross body purse. I love how this can be worn with a cocktail dress or with a pair of jeans to a concert. I absolutely adore the inside polka dot print. So cute! The price isn't too steep. You can buy it here.

More Sequins Please!

I seriously cannot get enough sequins! So girly. So fun. So now. This skirt is heaven. You can even wear it belted or alone. This can be worn now in the heat with sandals and in the deep winter with tights and booties. Oh and how great is the antique gold/bronze color? So delish. You can buy it here.

The Perfect LBJ

I'm not loving the ad for this jacket but trust me, this jacket looks AWESOME in person. It's the perfect little black jacket to throw on over anything - a sundress,a gown, a top with jeans, top with shorts, or wear it as a top with jeans. The shoulders have volume but it's not too overpowering and it's flattering. I promise this jacket will look totally chic for years. I definitely think this is a better investment than the faux fur chubs that are out in the stores. They're great but you will NOT be wearing those in the spring...you'll be wearing this. You can buy it here.

I Heart New York Fashion Week

Excuse Me...I'm having a fashion week moment. Stunning. Insane. These looks from the Rebecca Taylor Spring 2011 show are beyond fab. Every single item is so pretty and glamorous. Check out this link to view all the looks from the show. I loooooooooooove all the orange frocks. Oh and how about this three tier skirt above?!? Seriously dying.

Polka Dots Made Well

The Alexa Chung for Madewell collection finally hit the web earlier this week. For those of you who don't know who Alexa Chung is...wake up. She's the "it" girl across the pond and has received Sienna type status for her boho chic style. Not to mention the hottest bag of the year by Mulberry was so adoringly named the "Alexa". I don't live near a Madewell...sigh...but I do loooove their clothes. The store is all about comfort casual cool. The Alexa Chung collection is very true to Ms. Chung's style - a lot of boho chic pieces that are easy to wear. I love this top. The velvet dotted blouse has a polished look and it's super feminine. You can buy it here.

Found the Hunter

Ridiculous. I looooove a hunter green satin pant. I don't know about you, but I'm really digging the look on the new season of Gossip Girl. There's a lot of colorful pants paired with Sequined blazers. We all know how fabulous sequins are! If you're someone whose afraid to wear a bubble gum pink wide leg pant or a cherry red boyfriend trouser, these pants are great for you because they're a little more understated. Hunter green goes well with almost every color. The color isn't bright and the shape of the pant isn't too trendy. Wear them with a racer back tank and booties out at night or with a tucked in silk blouse or fitted sweater with simple heels to work. You can buy these here.

White Hot

I've always been a fan of winter white. When worn properly it can look totally chic and weather appropriate. I looooove all of the "boyfriend" style trousers out in the stores right now, but it's rare that I see any in white. Here's a great pair that would look great with a tan or brown sweater/turtleneck and booties. Whatever top you decided to go with, I suggest it be simple and form fitting. Too much body in the top does not mix well with a slouchy lose bottom. As always with anything white, these pants can reappear in your spring/summer wardrobe. You can buy these here.

Third times a charm

Here are two of my favorite pieces from the third installment of the Kardashian for Bebe line. This dress is HOT! Actually, it literally is hot...it's made of suede. I just think it really works with everything else out for fall, like the military trend and the leopard booties. This bag is sort of like the new "it" messenger bag. It's great for during the day and for going out at night. The tassels are totally on trend. Way to go Kardashians! You can buy this dress here and this bag here.

Lady in Leopard

Leopard is so hot for fall, which got me thinking...shouldn't we all own a leopard print dress? A dress similar to these two shown above can be worn for work or play. Leopard print dresses are sexy but can still be conservative. I love mixing leopard with bright colors - specifically colorful shoes, bags, belts and jewelry. You can buy these great dresses here and here.

Gold Metal Hotness

Have I mentioned how much I need big Ghetto Gold earrings in my life? I love Large Gold Statement Pieces, especially earrings. Simple large earrings are one of the easiest ways to dress up any outfit. Here's a great inexpensive pair that's a little 80's and not so small. You can buy them here.

I want to wear denim with sequins

I'm in a denim vest mood today. A denim vest can really add so much to a simple outfit. This winter, try wearing skinny pants/leggings with a fitted sweater and a denim vest and boots. This is truly layering at it's cool casual finest. I am loving the look of this JCrew ad on net-a-porter featuring a denim vest with a sequined skirt. This is such a great way to wear something dressy casual. You can buy this great vest here.

I'll take two Cocktails, Please

Lately, I find myself wanting to wear two large interesting rings next to each other on the same hand. I like the idea of wearing two of my favorite rings next to each other, even if at first it doesn't seem to mix well. Believe it or not, this look can actually work. For example, pair a large cocktail ring on your middle finger with a different shape ring on your pointer. It's totally unexpected and a nice change to the stackable bangle trend. Here are two completely different rings that would actually work next to each other. I know this trend sounds like a bit much, but it really works when worn properly. Please avoid wearing anything on your wrist (maybe one thin bangle only) when participating in this trend. You can buy the blue ring here and the two castles ring here.

Over the Knees

I apologize for not posting yesterday. I was too busy celebrating 90210 day! But since I'm all about stepping into fall now, a great way to start transitioning is to buy a pair of over the knee boots (or as I will from now on refer to them as - OTK's). They spice up an outfit without much effort. Wear them over skinny jeans and a loose sweater and you're done. This hot pair of OTK's is reasonably priced and can be found here.

Sweet September

With the first day of September arriving, I thought it would only be proper to really get into the fall style. Here it is. This is the "IT" jacket people. It's way too expensive and absolutely fabulous. I do believe that cheaper versions will be out in no time. This military style wool and shearling jacket should be worn with lace, skinny jeans, over chiffon dresses (yes, you can wear chiffon), silk tops, and a great sweater on a cold winter day. I'm looking for a good look-a-like...and no, not the one from Express. You can buy this here.

Denim Shirts

The time has come. After days of going back and forth, I finally decided to do a blog post about this trend. You may have noticed that the denim shirt was introduced in the Chloe collection for fall 2010. Now, the denim shirt is coming out from A LOT of brands...JCrew, Mossimo at Target, Vince, etc. I was initially annoyed with this trend for one reason - there are people out in the world who will claim they have been rocking this look for years. However, these people DO NOT wear the denim shirt in the correct form or fashion. So, Nascar lovers beware - your precious denim shirts are taking over in a more fashion savvy way. Deal with it. I know in spring the denim on denim thing was in style but it's not a lifestyle. These shirts are great because it's not over masculine or super girly. The denim shirt is very practical and actually a GREAT substitute for the oh so classic white button down. It goes well with A LOT of what we all already have in our closet. You can wear it uptown chic or roughed up for hipster appeal. I'll be purchasing one and wearing it for a while. But more than that, I think this is the kind of piece we should all hang on to even after the trend dies out because this kind of trend will come back in. I guarantee it. You can buy it here.

Secretary Style

Hotness. This is my kind of pencil skirt. It's edgy, RED, leather, fitted, flattering, and affordable. I love the idea of mixing a flowy silk blouse with such an edgy bottom. You can buy it here.

In a Tweedy Mood

So as the summer fades, we start thinking about what to wear during the fall. A very easy, basic, and pretty much mandatory piece of clothing is the classic tweed jacket. Here's one of my faves. It resembles a D&G jacket I once saw but couldn't afford. It's reasonably priced and can mix and match well with what you already own. I love love love the look of a tweed jacket over a striped shirt or a fun printed t-shirt. But as always, the tweed jacket looks great over a structured dress or a silk blouse. You can buy it here.

Jean Jacket

Who doesn't need one? The jean jacket always comes and goes in the fashion world. This is a great one from LA Made. I bought this one a little while ago and have gotten a lot of use out of it. It's a basic piece with a slight twist. The cut is super flattering. You can buy it here.

Ultimate Party Dress

I'm in a tan or beige with red shoes kind of mood today. Not sure why...maybe it's the crazy amount of tan being featured everywhere for fall? Anyways, this is totally my kind of party dress. It's fun, flirty, fashion-forward, made of gorgeous fabric, filled with details, and it's taupe in the back. Red heels would REALLY add a lot to this look. You can buy it here.

I need some more structure

Let's face it, if you're not carrying the awesome Mulberry "Alexa" bag right now or this coming fall, the next best thing is a great structured bag. This design picks up on the current lust for animal print and leather. A beautiful structured bag like this makes me want to whip out a pencil skirt, gloves, and a great hat...sort of a 1940's look. But seriously, this bag will fit everything you need while looking totally chic. You can buy it here.

Surrounded by Total Studs

Can't stop staring at these absolutely fabulous can't even stand it shoes. Suede, Studs, rock n roll, i die. I need to see these in person. Someone who wears a size 40 please buy them here and let me borrow. Ok? Thanks.

A Juicy Bird

The Bird by Juicy Couture Line is really taking off. The line is filled with upscale modern cool pieces. I posted a blazer by the line several weeks ago and I'm still keeping my eye on it just in case it ever goes on sale. I love how permanently chic this dress is. This can seriously be worn now or in five years and it's still going to look hot. You can buy it here.

Yes, this skirt is from Ann Taylor!

I know, I can't believe it either! I am shocking myself as I type. This is a great classic leopard pencil skirt. It looks like it hangs beautifully, and you can never go wrong with a "quality" animal print pencil skirt. The price is reasonable and you'll get a lot of use out of it. It think it may be worth going into Ann Taylor to try it on. Who knows. you may just find yourself intrigued with other items. It's very obvious the store, known for it's super conservative attire, has hired new designers. I would totally wear this with a ribbed tank top and black booties out on the town or with a white button down top and black patent pumps for work. You can buy this here.

Everybody put your gloves on

Ok now I don't need gloves, but if I did, I would wear these. Very stylish and you can really wear these with anything and to just about anywhere. I love love love the detail of the double straps mixed with the ruffles and hardware. There's a lot going on but it really works. Maybe I should move so I have an excuse to start wearing these?!? You can buy them here.
